"When St. Mary's University College began to restore the historic buildings on its campus, Dr. Norman Knowles, a St. Mary's University (StMU) professor, gave a presentation on the historical significance of the StMU site.

I had just spent years watching the creation of the site-specific play Nix by Alberta Theatre Projects and the Ghost River Theatre Company and I realized StMU would be an ideal place to perform a site-specific piece of work.

From that moment of inspiration, numerous creative and energetic individuals collaborated together and The Midnapore Cycle came to life. The people you see in this program are StMU students, alumni, faculty, staff, administrators, professionals in the theatre world, granting agencies, and donors. All are friends who value The Midnapore Cycle and who understand the vital importance of drama and the arts in education."
